Adventures in STEM Grades 1-2
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) encourages curiosity, creativity, artistic expression, collaboration, computational thinking, communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and design thinking. Students will embark on problem solving scenarios while working with their peers as a team. Student-led teams will work together to create a Marshmallow Catapult, Balloon Cars, and Fidget Spinners, to name a few!
Discoveries in Science (Grade 1-2)
Explore the chemist in you! Students will work independently and in groups under the supervision of the instructor. Students will experience hands-on activities that will teach them about the field of Chemistry. Students will be learning the basics of the Scientific Method, chemical reactions, and many more exciting experiments. Experiments will include elephant toothpaste, baking soda-vinegar experiments, slime, and many more!
Math and Computers (Grade 1-3)
Designed to provide enrichment in the area of mathematics by building on what the students already know. The students will participate in various math activities that require critical thinking, logic and spatial reasoning during the classroom segment of this class. The other objective of the class will be to provide age appropriate experiences in the computer lab.
In the spring semester, the student explores the concept of Pi. The online component explores Google Suite and various Math websites. Some other activities covered include Tangrams and origami.
Artnado (Grades 4-6)
"Something from Nothing" - So many materials are just thrown away or put into recycling...but even with recycling there is waste. Let's take some of those items and create a NEW piece! You will see treasure where you once saw trash! Some items we will need from home are-cleaned glass jars with lids, cleaned cans, and magazines/flyers.
Computing for Students (Grades 4-6)
Students will be lead through a myriad of programs to help provide enrichment and enjoyment to the day to day classroom. Each week brings a new project and a new program, from Wordle to Power Point to Excel to numerous other programs. This class will provide a backbone for students to kick start their usage and mastery of one of the most important tools in the classroom of this new millennium – the computer.
Kids Can Cook! (Grades 4-6)
Kids Can Cook is a fun and interactive cooking class for students who will have an opportunity to collaborative while preparing recipes with their peers in the kitchen. The course covers basics from measuring and cutting to learning about advanced flavors, techniques, and use of herbs while cooking and baking. Including kitchen safety and healthy eating habits. The course culminates in the creation of a personalized cookbook containing all of the recipes, tips, and information presented in class.
*For the safety and well-being of ALL students, this class will be unable to accept students with food allergies of ANY kind. We appreciate your anticipated support.*

The young actors will learn about stage directions and movement, stage and theatre vocabulary, group games, pantomime, improvisation, make-up, costuming, monologues, and creating skits. The actors will be part of a performance at the end of the session.
Advanced Discoveries in Science (Grades 5-6)
This class will focus on activities that deal with the scientific method, kitchen chemistry, aeronautics (planes, rockets and kites) and environmental science *for safety purposes, food may be used in this course
